Known for its superb mosaics, the Roman villa at Vallon, near Avenches, exudes opulence, and gardens were laid out in front of its portico. In Nyon, too, gardens, symbols of the tamed nature so dear to the Romans, were given pride of place in public and private spaces.
The Museum’s Roman garden on the Esplanade Jules César was embellished and enriched for the occasion, thanks to the collaboration of Nyon’s Service des Espaces Verts.
